Disappointment

Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth:
Awakening to your life's purpose

When you say, I enjoy doing this or that, it is really a misperception.
It makes it appear that the joy comes from what you do,
but that is not the case.
Joy does not come from what you do,
it flows into what you do
and thus into this world from deep within you.

The misperception that joy comes from what you do is normal,
and it is also dangerous,
because it creates the belief that joy is something
that can be derived from something else,
such as an activity or thing. You then look to the world to bring you joy, happiness.
But it cannot do that.
This is why many people live in constant frustration.
The world is not giving them what they think they need.

Today I was reading this passage from Eckhart Tolle again in the sun. I have had a disappointment yesterday due to myself because I was having expectations again. And as always expectations lead to disappointments. Toek gave me a kiss on my forehead and said, don't be disappointed in yourself, just try again tomorrow without the expectations. Simple, true and lovely...the sun was shining even brighter after that :)

Big hug to you all and have a lovely Sunday :))

Read here how this story ends

Hello Sas,
Beautiful photos and lovely thoughts as always.

Hope you have a wonderful time!!

Sas, thanks for quoting from Eckhar's book, one of my favs as you already know :) Today, I read this and felt good since I actually practiced it this morning where I did something with no ego, no expectations and I felt a sense of relief. This is because I just let things be and the stress of doing it a certain way to please others etc was gone. I need to do that more often :)

Thanks dear Peggy, Itkupilli, Vani, Arty and Rupa :)

When I made the post I was disappointed. Everybody has personal lessons to learn and this is a very old lesson of mine that I apparently still haven't learned. That is why I felt so disappointed..... it was a very confronting situation for me.

But yesterday I tried it again, this time without expectations and it worked :) I remained myself completely and could feel the energy flow.

As a look back now I feel how this at first negative experience turned out to be a beautiful lesson. This helped me to come closer to myself and stay there.

Now the only memory I have of this experience is a positive one :)

Thank you my friends for sharing your thoughts so openly and take care,

with love, Sas
