Making a cork wreath

I received a comment from Kanchan in which she asked me how to make the cork wreath I showed on my post. Well Kanchan; it is very easy and fun to do :) I love the soft colours and textures of the corks, they match my wall perfectly. Some corks have beautiful ruby colours because they are from bottles of red wine :)To get started you need lots of corks, a straw wreath, pins and glue. You can ask friends and family to help you collect the corks. In my wreath I have used a lot of corks with good memories of wonderful evenings with friends, wine and laughter :)When you have all the materials it is time to get started :) Just push the pins in the corks at the upper side. Don't push them in too far because otherwise you can't stick them deep enough into the straw wreath. To attach the corks more firmly you might want to put a little bit of glue on the needle before pushing the pins into the wreath. Make sure they all follow the same direction. It looks quite complicated but it is very easy to do :) The trick is to work in one direction and to leave a bit space between the corks. Just wait and see once you get started it will be fun to do :)) Well Kanchan I hope I gave you a clear idea about how I made my cork wreath. Good luck with your making your own and if there is any unclearity just let me know :)

Kanchan now you have the responsibility of making the wreath and posting a photo:)) hee hee.

I know of a couple who are french canadian and who always drink wine with their meals and collect these corks in a big glass jar. They have quite a collection. May be I should tell them to make a wreath too.
