Flower arrangements; Astrantia

Saturday I bought one of my favourite flowers on the market; Astrantia (Great Masterwort). I just love this flower because of the pale colours and intriguing shape.I am not really the type for a bouquet; I like to see the flower by itself. The Astrantia has such beautiful colours and seems so fragile with its green veins.I always thought the colour was purely pink but with a salmon coloured background I discovered that it has a touch of violet too. They match olive green and lychees perfectly. I love to make these little still lifes, it makes me feel like a painter although I cannot even draw a straight line hihi :)It is so lovely to see how colours change through their surroundings. This small flower with its pale colour palette reminds me of a distant past somehow. Combined with blu and pink they look fresh. I used to have these colours in my room as a child and about six years old. Everytime I see these pink and blu colours they remind me of my old safe bedroom :))I should buy fresh flowers more often as they seem to add new energy to my house. Just one or two in a vase can change a dull corner into a intriguing still life. For less then two Euro I have created some lovely arrangements in different corners of my home. In a small vase, floating in a bowl or combined with lychees; Astrantia added spring to my home :)
