Decorating with wicker

I love all kinds of baskets and wicker chairs. It gives your interior something rustic and cosy. Through the years I have collected different baskets and they became an important element in my (still life) decorating.

They are helpful in the kitchen to display and store, but most of all they are a beautiful decorating element. I also use them to cover up holes in the wall or ugly electricity points and flexes.

I use wicker plates to decorate my dining table and they always add a rustic element right away together with fresh herbs in baskets. At night I use them as lanterns with little lights in them.

They are my favourite still life elements. As they seem to adjust to every colour scene. In my kitchen I use lobster baskets to store my cork. The wicker-bottle standing next to them is a collector's item from the local brewery, it used to contain beer. It is very old and still in good shape :)

My kitchen wall is a display of different wicker baskets. Very handy, when I need something I just grab it from the wall. Who said decorating can't be practical ? hihi

This is my favourite wicker chair from France. I love the design and it sits great! Its colour matches the yellow wall beautiful and by itself it is already a beautiful still life. I bought two of them on a flea market for 10,- hihi. But they are priceless to me know, I love them.

So if you ever visit a flea market or an outlet sale keep your eyes open for wicker items. They are practical and beautiful at the same time! I hope you enjoyed this post and I wish you a nice day :))

I love wicker too for their variations in color and texture. But I don't know how to decorate with them as beautifully as you do Sas! I am not much for country style decorating and when I try to use wicker to decorate, it looks country where as yours looks so warm and sophisticated! Beautiful composition as always.
